-Celebrate all things local Friday at Savannah’s resident coworking space with Year of the Local at Thinc Savannah. The fun soiree will feature local food, businesses, and music. Friday, 5-8 p.m.; $20

-Check out - and maybe buy - some of the excellent work from Savannah’s artists at the Telfair art fair Saturday and Sunday. The open-air event in Telfair Square also offers family activities. Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 12-4 p.m.; free

-Experience the Theatre of the Absurd Saturday and Sunday at Ampersand with a production of the 1959 play Rhinoceros. The show aims to challenge the audience’s educations and assumptions. Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m.; free

-Get kids excited about reading with the Savannah Children’s Book Festival in Forsyth Park Saturday. Children and families can meet favorite writers, including “The Giver” author Lois Lowry, play with costumed characters and enjoy fun, hands-on activities. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; free
