All across Georgia, students, teachers and community volunteers are doing their part to help improve Georgia's high school graduation rate. In 2013, only 71.5 percent of high school students graduated with their classmates. In partnership with The United Way of Greater Atlanta, GPB's Stop The Drop campaign highlights programs that help keep students engaged in school. “We service so many kids that don’t have access to food sometimes, that don’t even have backpacks and school supplies," said Qaadirah Abdur-Rahim, CEO of the Future Foundation, an after school program in south Fulton County. "It’s so important to remember that we really do still have poverty-stricken kids here and they need our support.” Other organizations focus on children who have cultural challenges. "There are a lot of resources available, but sometimes Latino students need a little bit of a push to make sure that they're on the right track," said Angela Hurtado, who founded Hispanic Organization Promoting Education.

Students can also help the mission by entering this year's Stop The Drop video contest.
