Whole Foods Issues Stone Fruit Recall In Georgia

Whole Foods has issued a recall on plums, nectarines, peaches, and other kinds of stone fruits distributed to Georgia due to possible Listeria contamination.

The recall also extends to strong>made-in-store items prepared with the fruit such as cakes and tarts sold between June 1 and July 21.

The fruits came from Wawona Packing Co., based in in Culver, California.

A release sent July 28 from Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black says state Department of Agriculture inspectors will be checking retail stores to make sure the recalled products are removed from sale.

Customers who have purchased any of the recalled fruits from Whole Foods should discard them, and bring in their receipt for a full refund.

No illnesses have been reported to date.
