Rain, sleet, black ice and freezing temperatures are forecast to head to Middle Georgia.
A winter storm warning remains in effect for middle and northern counties in Middle Georgia. South of Bibb County there’s a freezing rain advisory in effect.
Chris Simmons is chief meteorologist for 41NBC/WMGT. He says the main event will start Wednesday around 3:00am and last through Thursday morning. Simmons is forecasting about a quarter of an inch of ice potentially.
Tuesday the National Weather Service briefed more than 25 Macon leaders on weather conditions for the next few days.
"It looks like sometime tomorrow morning the Macon area Central Georgia will probably receive sleet, snow, rain, black ice, a possibly 2-4 inches of snow, if we're in the right forecast area," EMA director Don Druitt said.
