Mercer University football heads back out on the road this Saturday to take on conference rival Davidson University. The Wildcats are on their ninth life going into the weekend, as they’re 0-8 on the season.

Mercer owns the best overall record in the Pioneer League, sitting at 7-1 after beating Campbell last weekend for their first away win. The Bears are also 3-1 in conference play, putting them a half game behind first place.

Davidson has lost their first five conference games by an average of 31 points, while Mercer has averaged 39 per game on the season. Mercer’s second-best rushing defense will also look to keep the Wildcats at their low average of 71 running yards.

Fans not traveling to North Carolina can catch the game at Francar’s Buffalo Wings, just off Mercer’s campus. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
