Paulding County officials announced they’ve entered into an agreement with Propeller Investments to develop Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport,

The airport, located 24 miles northwest of Atlanta, is working to make changes necessary for commercial service.

Under the agreement, the airport has been renamed Silver Comet Field at Paulding NW Atlanta. Propeller is in talks with several commercial carriers and hopes to announce initial passenger service shortly.

Silver Comet is the first airport to open in the Atlanta metro area since the 1970’s.

Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport is owned by the County, with oversight administered through the Paulding County Airport Authority.

Economic development activity at the airport could result in more than $350 million in annual economic activity and thousands of jobs for Paulding County over the next decade according to Propeller Investments.
