Stone Mountain Celebrates 'I Have A Dream' Speech

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga.  —  
State and local officials are inviting the public to celebrate the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at Stone Mountain. State and local officials are inviting the public to celebrate the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at Stone Mountain.

Democratic state Sen. Emanuel Jones of Decatur is slated to join DeKalb County Interim CEO Lee May, Stone Mountain Mayor Pat Wheeler and others for a celebration at Stone Mountain Wednesday afternoon.

Organizers say the event will coincide with celebrations around the world, and will culminate with a bell-ringing ceremony.

Jones is the chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Advisory Council and organizers say the event begins at 1:30 p.m.
