U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker is set to visit Atlanta and meet with business leaders as well as education and government officials.

The Commerce Department says Friday's visit is part of a nationwide listening tour. In a statement, Pritzker says her goal is to "serve as a bridge to the business community — both domestically and abroad — so that we can work together to strengthen the economy and create jobs and opportunities for all Americans."

The secretary will be visiting the Global Center for Medical Innovation, a nonprofit organization that works with universities, research centers and others on the commercialization of new medical technology.

Pritzker will also participate in a discussion with manufacturing and shipping company officials hosted by UPS and tour the U.S. Census Bureau's regional office.
