Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has announced a digital marketing software company is expanding its operation in metro Atlanta and will create 225 new jobs.

Officials say ExactTarget is investing $1.25 million in its expansion effort over five years. The company acquired Atlanta-based business-to-business marketing technology provider Pardot in October 2012 and will move into the company's existing office in Buckhead.

ExactTarget employs about 1,800 people worldwide and provides services allowing companies to communicate with customers through email and social media.
