A four-month campaign to clean up the city of Savannah neighborhood-by-neighborhood kicked off this weekend.

City officials have been working with civic groups and a local youth council to organize The Great Savannah Cleanup.

They're expecting residents and volunteers to help pick up trash, remove graffiti and pull weeds in overgrown lots. There will also be a drop-off point where residents can discard old car tires.

The cleanup campaign runs through June 30. Residents and businesses that organize neighborhood cleanups during the period will get bags and gloves from the city and its partners, as well as collection and disposal service.
