Georgia officials are shutting down two daycare centers in Warner Robins after discovering violations that endangered dozens of children.

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning ordered the emergency closures for Unique Tutoring and Individualized Children Academy locations in middle Georgia. Officials said rule violations regarding transportation, supervision of children and criminal background checks of employees were found at both centers.

Kay Helliwig, assistant commissioner for childcare for the state agency, said an investigation is ongoing.

Venetta Taylor, who owns the two daycare centers, said she had no immediate comment when reached Saturday by the Telegraph in Macon.

The agency said a total of 46 children were attending the two centers during its last check. The emergency closures were to take effect Monday.
