Group Hopes To Save Old School

Residents of a central Georgia town are protesting a decision to demolish an elementary school, saying the building is an important piece of history and should be saved.

School officials plan to tear down Rumble Academy in Warner Robins as part of a school improvement project. But members of a group calling itself "Save Rumble" hope to block the plan.

The building, constructed in 1945, has served many roles. It was the first building to house Warner Robins High School, and was also a junior high school for a time. It now houses Houston County Crossroads, the school district's alternative school.
