Aviation, government and business leaders from France and Atlanta plan to meet to talk about ways to make airports more environmentally friendly.

The Sustainable Airport Area International Seminar is set to be held at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The theme of the event is "Sustainable Airport Areas as a Worldwide Metropolitan Phenomenon." It aims to look at the creation of sustainable jobs, land-use factors and local partnerships that attract airport-related activity, such as hotels, convention centers, corporate headquarters and airline offices.

The seminar is part of the France-Atlanta program, a collaboration started two years ago by the French Consulate General in Atlanta and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Its overall goal is to spur job growth and increased investment and trade between Paris and Atlanta.
