Vogtle Contractors Sue Ga. Power
Primary Content
Two contractors working on the expansion of Plant Vogtle in east Georgia are suing Georgia Power and its partners over the project.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported Westinghouse Electric and Stone and Webster are suing over site preparation work for which they haven’t been paid.
Georgia Power is adding two nuclear reactors at Plant Vogtle at a cost of more than $14 billion.
The contractors want more than $28 million, about half what they said they’re owed for the work. According to the lawsuit, Georgia Power has paid the other half.
The utility told the Business Chronicle it will continue to negotiate with the two contractors over the disputed payments.
