For the first quarter this year, Georgia had more than 34,000 foreclosure filings. That means one in every 119 homes in the state has a filing now. Both numbers are in the top 10 in the nation.
The data does reveal some good news in foreclosure activity. Though the numbers reflect an increase in foreclosure activity from the last quarter of 2011, foreclosures fell nearly 9 percent from the first three months of last year.
