Bibb County commissioners decided Tuesday to bring back the program after hearing feedback from residents. The commissioners also decided they won't resurrect the county's efforts to spray for ticks.
County Engineer Ken Sheets said the mosquito spraying could cost $15,000 per month once permits, equipment and the pesticide are readied.
Bibb County Commissioner Elmo Richardson had asked fellow commissioners to consider resuming the mosquito spraying. He said residents have been calling him asking for the spraying, and that mosquitoes raise concerns about health and quality of life.
