The Augusta Chronicle reports that Juvenile Justice Commissioner Gale Buckner introduced new director Ronald Brawner and two assistants during a recent news conference at the facility.
Nine workers at the youth center have been fired since November. Two others were demoted and offered positions at different facilities.
The state agency has been working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate several issues at the center. Their investigation began after the November beating death of 19-year-old Jade Holder, who was a resident of the center.
