University of Georgia economics students now can take a course on Wal-Mart.

The Multi-billion-dollar retailer is the focus of a new freshman course, “Wal-Mart: Good or Evil?”

Economics professor Jeff Dorfman says, he wants his students to be informed shoppers.

“A lot of people hate Wal-mart. A lot of people love Wal-mart. Mostly without any of them actually thinking about it or understanding the issue, but with a good a chance, we can introduce the students to how you should actually do research and collect the facts to see whether the things you’re reading or thinking are true or not.”

The freshman seminar classes were offered for the first time this year.
