This Friday -- the day after Thanksgiving -- is the fourth-annual National Day of Listening.
The day is part of StoryCorps, where we take time to capture the stories of important people in our lives, and its goal this year is to celebrate teachers.
The idea is to take an hour Friday to record an interview with a favorite teacher (or mentor) using whatever equipment is handy – your computer, a smart phone, a tape recorder.
Story Corp founder Dave Isay explains why he thinks listening is the most precious gift we can give the people who matter to us.
