A company says it will build a renewable energy electric generation plant in Twiggs County, creating about 150 jobs.

The Telegraph newspaper reports that WGS Energy Group LLC has signed a purchase agreement for about 275 acres of land in the Interstate 16 South Industrial Park.

Company President and CEO Bret Warren says the plant will be the first of its kind, utilizing technology that reduces most emissions to undetectable levels.

Construction is planned to begin next year, with the plant expected to be operating by the fourth quarter.
