The University of Georgia has delegated a committee to fill the position of dean of the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences.

Former Dean Garrett Stokes left the university in August, accepting a position as executive vice president for academic affairs at Florida State University.

According to school officials, the committee will be assisted by UGA's executive and faculty search group.

Senior Associate Dean Hugh Ruppersburg is currently serving as interim dean.
