Lottery Sales Top $3.5 Billion

Georgia Lottery officials say sales have exceeded $3.5 billion for the fourth year in a row.

Georgia Lottery Corp. sales for fiscal year 2011 were $3,597,921,870. Georgia Lottery President and CEO Margaret DeFrancisco said despite a tough economy, the lottery only experienced about a 1 percent dip in sales.

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program.
