State Senate minority leader Robert Brown is running for mayor in the City of Macon.

He formally qualified Thursday at the Bibb County Board of Elections.

He’s served in District 26 for the last 20 years.

He will challenge current Mayor Robert Reichert, who is seeking a second term in office, and former Macon Mayor Jack Ellis who wants his old job back in the July primary.

All three are Democrats.
