Sonny Perdue and Zell Miller will serve as national co-chairmen of the former House speaker's White House run. Perdue is a Republican and Miller is a Democrat who has backed Republicans in recent years.
Gov. Nathan Deal — who served with Gingrich in Congress — will be his Georgia chairman.
Gingrich is among the Republicans seeking their party's nomination for president in 2012.
He has opened a campaign headquarters in Atlanta.
