Two more Georgia banks were closed into the weekend by regulators. It ended a nearly two-month stretch without any seizures.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Bartow County Bank of Cartersville, along with New Horizons Bank of East Ellijay were the latest casualties.

The institutions represent the 7th and 8th to be closed this year.

There have been 59 bank closures in Georgia since the middle of 2008. That number leads the nation over that time.
