State Senator Jon Albers of Roswell wants to stop the toll at Georgia 400.

The 50 cent toll was supposed to stop last year, but Governor Perdue’s administration extended it for 10 years.

Authorities have since taken out bonds against future toll revenues.

The bill would require the general assembly to approve any of the tollway authority’s projects and could shorten the 10 year time frame.

Albers hopes to push his bill to a vote soon.
