Michelle Rhee talked about her support for vouchers for needy kids. She blamed a failed education system for low student performance.

"The dysfunctional public school system isn't this way by accident," she told a house education committee. " It has never been driven by the special interest of the children."

Rhee is also pushing for a strong federal department of Education and school accountability. Georgia lawmakers are looking to expand Georgia's voucher system currently available only for special needs public school students.
