Mullah Omar Denies Peace Talks

For all the talk in recent weeks about peace talks in Afghanistan, apparently Mullah Omar, the leader of the Taliban hasn't gotten the memo. He released a statement on the eve of Eid al-Adha, which begins today, just a few days before a NATO meeting to determine Afghan strategy, it's pretty lengthy, but here's the nut graph:

The enemy has been defeated at the battle field. Now they rely on media hypes and portray themselves as if making advancement but the ground realities are what you and we are witnessing. The enemy is retreating and facing siege in all parts of the country day in and day out. Their life casualties are spiraling up. It is because of this pressure that the enemy has resorted to spreading the misleading rumors of peace talks.
