Two Georgia congressmen say they will not support Nancy Pelosi’s bid to become Democratic leader in the U.S. House.

John Barrow in southeast Georgia’s 12th district had supported Pelosi in her two successful runs as House Speaker. He did not give a specific reason for not backing her now.

Earlier this week, southwest Georgia’s Sanford Bishop told the Albany Herald he too could not support Pelosi. The 2nd-district congressman did give a reason, saying with Democrats suffering heavily in the midterm elections, a new face is needed for U.S. House leadership.

Bishop narrowly won re-election to a 10th-term in Congress. And Barrow returns for a fourth term.
