The Region 6, Class 4A cross country meet was held Saturday at Marist High School. The top four teams from each division and the top 10 individual runners go on to the state meet, so a huge opportunity was at stake. Marist, Lakeside, Dunwoody, and Southwest DeKalb all qualified in the boys division for the State Meet. Individual qualifiers were John Ewing (1) and Brent Reynolds (6) from Lakeside; James Dwyer (2) and Kyle Sexton (8) from Dunwoody; James Weber (3), Michael Thurston (5), Scott Selvey (7), Ben Campbell (9), and Porter Harrast from Marist; and Jared Williams (4) from Southwest DeKalb.

In the girls division Sophie Harkins of Marist ran a personal best and region-winning time of 19:02. Marist, Lakeside, Dunwoody, and Southwest DeKalb all advanced as teams.
