In Liberty County, there's a rush of job-seekers to a metal forging facility opening soon.
British metal works company Firth Rixson will open a new facility near Midway in about a year.
It will hire 200 people at first.
And so far, 6,000 people have applied.
That's one for every 30.
Liberty County Commission Chairman John McIver says, he hopes locals are among them.
"The way the economy is, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't more," McIver says.
Jobs will pay between $15 and $30 an hour.
Firth Rixson has signed a deal with the state-run QuickStart job training at program at Savannah Technical College for its workers.
