Sanford Stadium will be one of the sites for the opening week of games in college football.
The day includes openers for the Georgia Bulldogs, hosting Louisiana-Lafayette in Athens. Georgia Tech’s Yellow Jackets are home in Atlanta hosting South Carolina State. And Georgia Southern is in Statesboro to face Savannah State.
Last night, it was a rousing opening to Georgia State Univesity’s football existence. The Panthers beat Shorter University 41-7. More than 30,000 fans were on-hand inside the Georgia Dome.
