400 Jobs Head To Statesboro

ATLANTA  —   The world’s top trailer manufacturer will begin construction on a new plant in Statesboro later this year. Governor Perdue announced the company’s $33.5 million plan on Monday. The investment is expected to create more than 400 jobs over the next four years.

Great Dane Trailers says the plant will open in 2012. The facility will encompass 450,000 square feet in its first phase, giving it the capacity to produce more than 5,000 refrigerated trailers annually.

Just 20 months ago, Great Dane closed its original plant in Savannah because of economic troubles and a need to improve efficiency.
