Handel just arrived at her election night headquarters at the Westin hotel in Atlanta.
The polls are showing her to be the front-runner in the race. Her numbers spiked significantly after former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin endorsed her last week.
Handel says it helped.
"I think it kept the momentum going and I made sure it had the juice that it had to finish it out and bring it home today."
Handel says she’s cautiously optimistic about results tonight, and she anticipates she’ll be in a runoff.
