A Fulton County judge is set to hear arguments from two insurance companies who want to block a State Ethics

Commission investigation into contributions to Republican gubernatorial hopeful John Oxendine. Judge Kimberly

Esmond Adams will hear the arguments Thursday morning in Fulton County Superior Court.

State Mutual Insurance Company and Admiral Life Insurance Company are seeking to block the commission's

investigation alleging it's politically motivated.

The companies are under investigation for funneling money to Oxendine's campaign through 10 political action

committees. Oxendine is the state's insurance commissioner and is barred from taking money directly from

companies he regulates. He has since returned the money.
