Ray Boyd has ended his campaign for Georgia governor.
In April, the millionaire businessman burst on the state’s political scene when he announced his campaign to run as a Republican--funded by $2 million of his own cash.
But after Boyd would not sign a GOP loyalty oath, state party leaders refused to put him on their primary ballot.
Boyd decided to run as an independent, but on Sunday he acknowledged the push to collect 50,000 signatures to qualify proved to be too much of a challenge. `
