Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson says he still supports offshore drilling even in the wake of the nation's worst oil spill.
Johnny Isakson has criticized BP for their handling of the worst oil spill in the nation’s history. But the Republican Senator, who is up for reelection this year, says he still supports drilling off of Georgia’s coast.

Tom Crawford of Capitol Impact dot com says there is a lot of support for off-shore drilling from Republican voters and the BP disaster hasn’t been enough to shake Isakson or his colleagues from their positions.

"I’m not surprised to see him take this stand and so far there doesn’t seem to be any counter movement, if you will, from any Georgia republicans on this particular issue," said Crawford.

So far no oil from the spill has reached Georgia’s coast.
