Signs and systems at nearly 280 Wachovia bank stores across Georgia will change to Wells Fargo in October as the
banks merge.
The company also has hired more than 300 tellers and bankers.
Atlanta will continue to be the headquarters for the company's Southeast region.
The company serves one in three households in Atlanta.
