The first group teed-off a little before 8 a.m. Competitive play was preceeded by the ceremonial first shots from golfing legends Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.
There will of course be a white-hot focus on what Tiger Woods will do on the course this weekend. It's his first competition since his personal life exploded into the public eye. Woods starts play around 1:40p.m.
Weather-wise for Thursday's first round, showers and thunderstorms are likely mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy for the day, with a high near 79.
