Georgians are getting out in the snow while it’s here. Kids are fashioning sleds from whatever they can.
“I’ve seen a bunch of people using recycling bins and trash can tops and cardboard and everything," says 13-year old Zachary Carter at Candler Park in Atlanta.
Front yards and parks are game. But officials are urging everyone in the state to stay off the icy roads.
It’s sunny skies today with temps in the 40’s which they hope will melt a lot of it. Though forecasters say the state’s not in the clear yet.
"As we go into Sunday night," says Shirley Lamback with the National Weather Service, "a front moves through and it does look like much of the north and parts of central Georgia will have a chance of a possible mix [of rain and snow] and may change over to all snow in the evening."
Though the snow isn’t likely to reach as far east as Savannah this time around--- the city which last saw snow fourteen years ago got about an inch last night.
