Warren County’s school system is losing its accreditation.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools visited the east Georgia county last summer to investigate complaints about the school board.

A SACS official says it found the board did not follow district policies, among other items.

The 800-student system was put on probation after a second visit found no improvements.

Warren County School Superintendent Carol Jean Carey confirms to The Augusta Chronicle the sanction goes into effect in July, so this year’s seniors will have accredited diplomas.
