A county magistrate judge has issued a temporary restraining order banning officials in Snellville from approving licenses for Sunday sales. The restraining order was pushed by some local residents-they claim Snellville’s city council acted unlawfully when it amended liquor laws without a referendum.
The move comes two weeks after city leaders voted to allow liquor-by-the-drink Sunday sales in the effort to help struggling restaurants.
A hearing is set for late January.
