An ex-deputy in north Georgia pleaded guilty to mail fraud relating to a false insurance claim on a motorcycle.
42-year old Kenneth Lane Gravett is a former deputy with the Polk County Sheriff's Department. Prosecutors say he fell behind on loan payments for his motorcycle last year, so he conspired with someone else to take the bike to make it seem like it was stolen.
Prosecutors say Gravett then used a false police report to make an insurance claim.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and could be fined up to $250,000 when sentenced in January.
