Top Court Opens Access to Medical Records
By Associated Press
Updated: 5 months ago
ATLANTA — On Monday the state’s top court opened up Georgians’ access to a deceased spouse’s medical records.
Tight privacy laws had kept the plaintiff in this case from getting copies of her dead husband’s health documents.
The Georgia Supreme Court ruled in Mary Miller’s favor today.
The justices found Miller could obtain most types of medical records, but not confidential communications.
