A staffer discovered the graffiti Tuesday morning at Scott’s Smyrna district office. The Nazi emblem covered a sign bearing the name of the congressman.
A spokeswoman for Scott says the FBI was notified along with Smyrna police.
The incident was also reported to U.S. Capitol Police. They have warned lawmakers about potential threats resulting from the increasingly emotional debates over health care reform at some town hall meetings across the nation.
Last week, Scott engaged in a shouting match at a local community meeting with opponents of health care proposals being pushed in Washington.
Scott represents Georgia’s 13th district.
