Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Statue Unveiling

Gov. Nathan Deal, joined by members of the King family, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Rep. Calvin Smyre, Capitol Arts Standards Commission members and other dignitaries, unveiled the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. statue at the Georgia State Capitol on Monday, August 28, 2017.

The statue, created by Atlanta-based sculptor Martin Dawe of Cherrylion Studios, now stands at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Capitol Avenue in Atlanta.
