Midday Music

Midday Music Playlist for 02/13/2012

- We hear two of the recordings that won Grammys for best classical performances yesterday (the lowercase but top-notch sextet eighth blackbird in small ensemble music of Steven Mackey and the New York Philharmonic's Christopher Lamb in a percussion concerto by Joseph Schwantner).
- Also, as German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser heads to Georgia to perform Elgar with the Atlanta Symphony this week, we hear his new recording of the Shostakovich cello concerto.
- And for Black History Month, a new recording of the Symphony in E minor by Florence Price.
