Medal Quest

Every two years, the world’s top athletes gather to compete in Games that are the toughest in the world—and unknown to many Americans: the Paralympics. Paralympians battle for the same top medals as Olympic athletes, in the same stadiums, with the same flaming torch. They are powerful, highly trained, proud to represent their countries…and physically disabled. Medal Quest presents in-depth portraits of America’s elite Paralympic athletes. Over seven months leading up to the August 29 start of the London Paralympic Games, the Web series will look at Paralympic history and great Paralympians, profile the next generation of champions and present the newest group to join the Paralympic movement: wounded “warrior athletes” from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
