Please join us for the Macon premiere of Margaret Mitchell: American Rebel.

This thought-provoking, GPB original documentary will premiere in Macon on Wednesday, June 29th at the Historic Douglass Theatre. You don’t want to miss this compelling, in-depth look into the life and work of the late author, Margaret Mitchell, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the publication of Gone With the Wind.

Ticket prices

$35 per person - general admission to the documentary and post-show discussion. Doors open at 7pm

$50 per person - all of the above, plus pre-show private VIP reception
Beginning at 6pm.

$75 per person - all of the above, plus VIP seating, listing in the program and on signage, and a copy of the Director’s Cut of the documentary

Overview of evening
The VIP guests will be treated to a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception and have the opportunity to meet and talk with Executive Producer Pam Roberts; Teya Ryan, President of GPB; Susan Lindsley, author and niece of Mitchell’s best friend; as well as other scholars and experts. Dancers will re-enact the famous Apache Dance that cost Mitchell her membership in the Junior League; and some of her personal effects - such as her typewriter and assorted correspondence - will be on exhibit.

The doors will open to the public for the screening of the documentary.

Experts will take the stage for a post-screening panel discussion with moderator Josephine Bennett of GPB Radio. Executive Producer Pam Roberts; authors Susan Lindsley and Ira Joe Johnson; Mary Ellen Brooks, curator of the Margaret Mitchell collection at UGA and Dr. Sarah Gardner of Mercer University will speak and take questions from the audience.
