This thought-provoking, GPB original documentary will premiere in Macon on Wednesday, June 29th at the Historic Douglass Theatre. You don’t want to miss this compelling, in-depth look into the life and work of the late author, Margaret Mitchell, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the publication of Gone With the Wind.

Overview of evening
The VIP guests will be treated to a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception and have the opportunity to meet and talk with Executive Producer Pam Roberts; Teya Ryan, President of GPB; Susan Lindsley, author and niece of Mitchell’s best friend; as well as other scholars and experts. Dancers will re-enact the famous Apache Dance that cost Mitchell her membership in the Junior League; and some of her personal effects - such as her typewriter and assorted correspondence - will be on exhibit.
The doors will open to the public for the screening of the documentary.
Experts will take the stage for a post-screening panel discussion with moderator Josephine Bennett of GPB Radio. Executive Producer Pam Roberts; authors Susan Lindsley and Ira Joe Johnson; Mary Ellen Brooks, curator of the Margaret Mitchell collection at UGA and Dr. Sarah Gardner of Mercer University will speak and take questions from the audience.
