Dan Hodlick, Director

Dan Hodlick returns for his fifth season as part of the Lawmakers staff, and his first season as the program's director. Dan is a 17-year veteran of the PBS network, as well as a seasoned Director and Technical Director for numerous national televised sporting events. When he's not in the Director's chair, Dan is either behind the lens as a Videographer or working as an Editor on GPB's numerous local productions.

Jose Avila-Kelly, House Director
Former Lawmakers intern Jose Avila-Kelly returns to Lawmakers for 2009 as House Director. Jose has worked for WGCL - TV, CBS 46 News, and as the Television Production Coordinator at University of West Georgia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications along with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of West Georgia.
Kevin Clay, Video Operator
Kevin Clay is in his first year as part of the Lawmakers production team. He joined the GPB staff as video technician/tape operator in March 2008. Born and raised in Birmingham, with a BA in Communications from the University of Alabama, Kevin spent 14 ½ years at the UA Center for Public Television and Radio, working on programs for Alabama Public Television.
Charlene Fisk, Photographer/Editor

Emmy Award-winning Charlene Fisk returns to Lawmakers for her fifth as a Videographer under the gold dome. Charlene also contributes to Georgia Public Broadcasting's art, outdoors and documentary programming. She has been a Videographer/Editor in the Public Broadcasting System for 10 years.

Shane Keating, Photographer
Shane Keating returns for his seventh season as a cameraman for Lawmakers.
In addition to Lawmakers, he shoots for many other GPB programs, including
Documentaries, Georgia Outdoors, and Georgia Traveler.
Matt Rasnick, Assistant Director, Editor, Web Video Producer
Rasnick returns for his 4th year with Lawmakers. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Kennesaw State University . He began his relationship with Georgia Public Broadcasting as a Lawmakers intern. He is now the Assistant Director of Lawmakers, and Post-Production Supervisor for GPB's apprentice program. Matt began his career as an independent film maker in 1999. He has written, directed, edited and performed in several films including ETC… which won Best Experimental Film from the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival in 2000.
Wesley Nichols, Senate Director
The 2009 legislative session marks the beginning of Wesley Nichols ninth year as a member of the Lawmakers staff. Normally a videographer, Wesley will be directing gavel to gavel coverage of the Senate chamber this year. A 2001 graduate of the University of Georgia, Wesley majored in telecommunication production and having a good time.
Glen Simmonds, Audio Director

Glen Simmonds brings nearly 20 years of radio broadcasting and audio production experience to his first season of Lawmakers. He was, for several years, the Operations Manager of an Atlanta-based public radio station, as well as the host of one of Atlanta's most popular Caribbean radio programs. He is currently the Executive Producer the annual Atlanta Caribbean Jerk Festival. A product of Atlanta's Morehouse College, Glen is originally from Runaway Bay, Jamaica.
Jan Doles, Production Administration and Inscriber Graphics
A 25-year data processing and administrative professional and a 9-year veteran of GPB, Jan Doles is the "Jack of Most Trades" in the production division. From lower third graphics to assisting the production, operations and assistant general managers, Jan is the "go-to" person when you need the small stuff done. Born in New York and raised in Washington, DC, she has been a "Georgia Peach" for 20 years and returns for her 2nd season as part of the Lawmakers team.

Emily Banks
Emily received her journalism degree from the University of Minnesota, where
she was also the co-publisher and editor-in-chief of the student newspaper,
The Minnesota Daily. She worked as a reporter and editor at the
24,000-circulation five-day-a-week newspaper throughout her college career
and was the university's Society of Professional Journalist's chapter
president.
Hometown: Cannon Falls, Minnesota
Tiana Fernandez
Tiana is a graduate of Kennesaw State University where she earned her B.S. in Communication for Media Studies. Her passion for broadcast journalism started in high school when she became one of the lead anchors for the first news station at her school. She has previous internship experience with WSB-TV, where she had the opportunity to observe and work with reporters in the field.

Minoo Hosseini
Minoo Hosseini returns for her second season as a part of the Lawmakers team. A devoted journalist, self-proclaimed electronics geek and hard news reporter, Hosseini lives and breathes the news. Hosseini recently graduated from Emory University in 2008 with a bachelor of arts in French and Journalism.

Brittany Evans
Brittany Evans graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a BA in Broadcast News and Spanish. She has worked in both print and broadcast journalism, as a writer for UGA's student-run newspaper, The Red and Black, and as a reporter/producer for her campus news station, NewSource 15. Brittany plans to pursue a career in broadcast news as a producer or reporter.

Alan Friedman
Alan graduated from Georgia State with a BA in Film and Video Studies, and a minor in photography. He has been a freelance wedding, portrait and event photographer for three years, working on my own and for Creative Loafing newspaper. He also previously interned at CNN post-production.

Andrea Hummel-Shelton
Andrea attended Western Kentucky University, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in Fall of 2007. She obtained a B.A. in Broadcasting & Journalism with an
emphasis in TV Production. She has a strong passion to continue to work in
television broadcasting after her experiences with WKYU-PBS and is excited
to be part of the 2009 Lawmakers team.

Evan Seitz
Evan is currently a senior at Georgia College & State University studying broadcast journalism. He has worked with numerous student organizations such as the Colonnade newspaper, Bobcat Media Productions, and WGUR campus radio. He has also written and directed numerous independent short films and aspires to one day create his own production company for documentary and independent filmmaking.
